Little Observations: Rain
The rains came today —again. I was at the day job when the alerts hit my phone, warning of flooding and more evacuations. I know that we need the rain after so long in drought situations, but dang I dread the flooding.
Water was just below the bridge, GSIS was sitting on the bridge waiting for any debris. I dreaded what my gardens would look like when I finally got home for the week. I hadn’t been a good steward of my lands lately.
As I waded through the little pools hidden in the grass, there it was—gleaming, cool, and quietly triumphant, untouched by flood or worry. An English cucumber hidden in the vines—my husband actually had to tell me about it. And it was marvelous, shared between me and the hens next door. It made sloshing back to the house feel like a queen in her court.
